After returning · Scenario 08
The customer says "let's start talking price" — does that mean the deal is secure?
Starting to talk about price doesn't mean you've entered closing. Boss Agent re-runs the pre-closing gates: whether the decision-maker has confirmed, whether the budget is in place, whether the process has started, and whether commitments are in writing. Miss one, and this deal could drag on for another three months — or even be lost.
The client says on WeChat, "If the price is about right, we can go ahead," and you almost send "Got it." Last deal was the same — the contract sat in legal for a month, and then the budget got cut. Enthusiasm in price talks doesn't equal conditions for signing.
Customer: "Give us a bit more on price, and we can pretty much finalize."
Sales: "Good, let's confirm the closing path: who on the decision-maker side gives final confirmation, where are we in the budget process, and what materials does legal need? Let's push forward in parallel and lock down the timeline."
The system reviews against the closing stage evidence checklist: whether all prior gates have passed, whether the quote is final, whether order checks are complete, whether the contract execution path is clear. If evidence is insufficient, it's not yet Close—gather evidence first, then discuss price.
Close Commercial, legal, procurement, and signing truly kick off—not just verbally agreed
Go through decision-maker, budget, process and written commitment item by item
Who completes what by when, put into writing
Advance only with evidence-based confirmation, not on "it should be soon"
"Thought it would close" deals no longer drag on for three months out of nowhere
Closing paths and commitments are traceable, task closure has evidence
Managers can distinguish which deals are truly closing and which are just "in discussion"
The client already said it's settled—won't it seem like I don't trust them if I go verify?
It's not distrust, it's "let's align on the path and move forward together" — which actually looks professional.
When is the task considered complete?
It only counts with clear evidence: written customer confirmation, process initiation, contract signing. Do you have a deal you thought would close but has dragged on for three months? Send it to me.
